DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

Bloom’s Ongoing Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Beliefs

Everyday at Bloom we work to cultivate an environment that nurtures diversity and connection. We think of ourselves as various and unique plants sharing the same greenhouse. We survey our ecosystem – team members, clients, colleagues, and partners – with a spirit of discovery: We strive to understand each other’s roots, knowing that our differences make us stronger, more dynamic, and more capable than we would be alone. We hold ourselves accountable for seeing, challenging, and supporting one another to individually and collectively provide premier services for our clients. Driven by this ethic, we aim to be the best possible neighbor in our professional community.

Values

The Bloom Team aims to build an equitable environment that welcomes difference and fosters inclusion. To achieve this aim, we commit to these values:

  • Operating with transparency

  • Seeking and engaging a variety of voices and opinions

  • Embracing and addressing conflict

  • Leading with vulnerability to build trust

  • Applying curiosity

  • Learning continuously

Purpose

By living these values, we prioritize our shared humanity, fostering one another’s ability to work as our best and most complete selves. This strengthens our capacity to partner with clients to design innovative solutions that drive organization-wide improvements resulting in sustained individual and community-level change.

Commitment

To support the ongoing work of fulfilling our values, Bloom staff will:

  • Build and nurture a psychologically safe environment that supports risk-taking, encourages vulnerability, and fosters diversity of thought.

  • Create space for productive conflict that respects individual boundaries and includes differing ideas and perspectives.

  • Maintain transparent and accessible management systems and practices.

  • Practice thoughtfulness, compassion, and justice when applying Bloom’s policies and procedures.

  • Invest in ongoing training that allows us to become students of the historical context of oppression and racism in order to best understand ourselves and the context within which our clients and their communities exist.

  • Continuously explore and work to dismantle the ways in which the values of White Supremacist Culture impact our organization and our work with clients.

  • Appreciate missteps as the learning edge of our work, providing opportunities to self-reflect, demonstrate resilience, and persevere so that we may grow.

We commit to these values and actions in order to care for ourselves as living, growing beings who bring our best ideas and energies in the service of our clients and our mission.
