SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPPORT
Kate Crossett is a dedicated educator with a deep-rooted commitment to student progress and educational equity. She kickstarted her career as a special education teacher through Teach for America in Philadelphia's Kensington section before extending her impact to Baltimore City and County public schools, supporting first- and second-year teachers. After her tenure in Baltimore, Kate returned to Philadelphia, where she has spent over a decade as a special education administrator at building and network levels working with various charter networks, shaping educational initiatives, establishing strong special education practices, and fostering academic excellence.
Building upon her teaching experience and administrative skills, Kate now serves as the supervisor of special education for a public school district in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In this role, she advocates for inclusive practices and equitable opportunities for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that every student receives the support they require to thrive academically and personally.
Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in the history of art and architecture from the University of Pittsburgh, a master of education in secondary education and teaching from Chestnut Hill College, and principal certification with honors from Relay Graduate School of Education. She also has a post-bac in art restoration which she earned on location in Florence, Italy.
Outside of work, Kate finds rejuvenation in spending time with her husband, their four-year-old son, and their beloved (18-year-old) dog. Whether it's unwinding at the Delaware beaches or embarking on adventures to new destinations, they are her greatest joy.
